The Perfect Brownie


Ingredients


- 1/3 cup cocoa powder

- 1/2 cup + 2 Tbsp boiling water

- 2 oz chopped dark chocolate

- 4 Tbsp melted butter

- 1/2 cup + 2 Tbsp vegetable oil

- 2 eggs

- 2 egg yolks

- 2 tsp vanilla extract

- 2 1/2 cup sugar

- 1 3/4 cup flour

- 3/4 tsp salt

- 1 cup chocolate chips (optional)



Directions

  1. Preheat the oven to 350F and line a 9x13" pan with parchment paper or foil

  2. Sift the cocoa powder into a bowl and whisk in the boiling water until smooth

  3. Add the chopped chocolate so it melts

  4. Whisk in the melted butter and oil

  5. Add the eggs and vanilla

  6. Whisk in the sugar

  7. Fold in the flour and salt until just combined (add here the optional chocolate chips for extra gooeyness)

  8. Pour the batter into the lined pan and bake for about 30 minutes (bake it for more or less time depending on preference)

  9. Once baked, let it cool in the pan for an hour before serving


Run a knife under hot water and wipe after each cut for perfect brownie squares.


Serve with freshly whipped cream or 'a la mode' with some hazelnut gelato and coffee sorbetto!
