Pizza Time

Pizza Dough Ingredients (serves 6 people)

- 500g flour

- 1tbs. vegetable shortening

- 1 packet of active dry yeast

- lukewarm water

- crystalline sea salt


Directions

  1. Dissolve the yeast in a glass of lukewarm water and stir

  2. In a bowl, mix the flour with the vegetable shortening

  3. Slowly add the completely dissolved yeast

  4. Continue to work the dough adding lukewarm water as needed without making it watery

  5. Once the dough is soft, elastic, and compact, divide it into 3" or 8cm wide round pieces

  6. The divided dough should rest for at least 5hrs to rise (preferably on a wooden surface at room temperature)

  7. Set your oven to 246C/475F

  8. The well-risen dough is ready to be rolled out

  9. Make your pizza any shape you like (round, square, heart), brush it with extra virgin olive oil and sprinkle it with a dash of crystalline sea salt

  10. Dress your pizza with toppings of your choice, and don't forget to add some herbs

  11. Bake for 4-5 minutes and serve
