Bringing the "je ne sais quoi" to a land that has so much to offer. The hill country of Texas is a hidden gem that the Romans would have loved, and as good Roman descendants  once found, we made it our absolute happy place where we unplug from the busy, hectic urban routine.

A sole scenic view cannot reveal the spectacular life that never ceases to unfold new awes. Running down the rolling hills inevitably joins our hearts to the dolci colline di Montefeltro, Urbino. Feeling the perpetual southern breeze that blows through our back porch reminds us of the countless evenings spent in La Città Bianca -- Ostuni. Hearing the cicadas sing in the warmest hours is like strolling in Prato della Valle, Padova.

The day begins with the rooster's "good morning," birds chirping, and cottontails hopping through the tall grass. A roadrunner chases an ever-changing kaleidoscope of butterflies over Texas wildflowers where the busy bees collect their pollen. The glorious sunsets paint a sky just as Van Gogh would have on his canvas, and set the scene for herds of deer to peacefully graze. Evening falls with the sparkling fireflies playing hide and seek in the forest, and frogs croaking at the shore of the pond. Nature never rests and constantly entertains as a blanket of stars kisses us good night.

As the rush on planet Earth was abruptly tamed by a worldwide pandemic, nature has had an unimaginable renaissance. Dolphins are swimming in Venice's Grand Canal, flamingos are gathering at the shores of the Po Delta, and ducklings are waddling down deserted city streets.

In trying to appreciate what we have rather than lamenting what we miss, we too wanted to share how the simplicity of nature has therapeutic effects on the human soul. Being in quarantine has given us the chance to truly retreat and live on our farm full-time. Whether it's gardening, baking, crafting, refreshing the look of a room, or simply enjoying the "dolce far niente," a slow pace inspires what matters most in life.

In mother-daughter collaboration, we'd like to share the joyful essence of farming.
